October 2006

Hi Everyone!

Our God is an awesome God, and he's truly done it again.

So many miracles have happened in our latest crusades - I cant write them all down, but can still share with you some of the fantatstic things that happened!

Vaalwater farmworkers Crusade:

We held an evangelistic crusade on our friend's game farm up in Vaalwater for all the farm workers that lived in that area.

(as we previously held the one in the township area there in town, but it was too far away for the game farm workers of the surrounding area to come, as most of them don't have any transport).

We had many new salvations during our farm crusade.

The people in the photo above are of various people putting up their hand to receive Jesus into their lives. We also had the people come forward for prayer for those that wanted healing. It was a very joyous time for the farm workers, with much dancing, singing and excitement.

We took many photos while in Vaalwater of school children that we also went to minister to. These school children each receiving stationary gifts from a missions orientated church based in New Zealand. They were all really excited, as these children have absolutely nothing! They received from the New Zealand church volley balls, soccer balls, rugby balls, writing books, pencils, crayons, balloons, writing pads, stickers, coloring in pens and pencils, rubbers and sharpeners.

The Principle there was just as excited and happy as the children, as there were no previous resources for the children to work with at all at this school.

Also the families were very poor and can't afford stationary and books for their children. Some of the parents even still encourage the children to stay home and work on the land, rather than going to school and learn. So - The Principle was smiling from ear to ear as his children received their gifts.

He is also asking the public if anyone else would like to sponsor money for a few items such as math's compasses, pencil cases, chalk etc to also help them.

If anyone wants to help in this way, please just write to us on our email address

MARAPONG Township in Elisras  -  Crusade:

We had many  new salvations over crusade period!!

When we first went to the arena in Marapong to do our crusade, but found it was too far away from the people, (as most of them don't have cars and would have to walk there, also too dangerous to walk around at night) so we uprooted everything and went to the middle of the township on top a deserted rubbish dump between 2 shabeans (PUBS) and put down our roots there with all our speakers, sound tower, truck, stage, everything and preached from that location. Much better response!

The people were really excited that we would actually go out to where they were. I remember as we were playing our African crusade music before it started, there were some African ladies that actually came out of their shanties (houses) to dance outside to the music, they were so excited at what was taking place.

The Pastors of Marapong were also really challenged as they saw how our team worked together (as our team is made up of a mixture of people - and all working physically as hard as each other). The Marapong Pastors were really impressed and said that this crusade is the first one where the black and white Pastors of that region had come and actually worked together.

It looked like quite a problem area for teenagers in the area of homosexuality, as we saw quite a few young boys sticking together like a gang, but with very gay tendencies. We invited the boys to stay for the crusades (which they attended every night). On the last night when the alter call was made, some of them stepped forward and received Jesus. One of them being the main leader.       Praise the Lord!

Selebi - Phikwe Stadium Crusade inside Botswana

Hundreds of people received salvation over the crusade period!!

A 7 year old boy was blind since birth - now he can see of the 1st time!

One man was completely paralyzed and in a wheelchair.

After the prayer was given out over the crowd, he could suddenly feel his legs.  He wiggled them around for a while and then began to get out of his wheelchair very determined to walk!

He then started walking around the grounds without any help or assistance from the people around him. After a while some people helped him to a car to get some rest. It was here that I took his photo.

We heard a report about this man as we packed up to leave Botswana after the crusade. This man has since been walking all over the town every day sharing a testimony of how much Jesus has healed him!! Praise the Lord !

We had an interesting event happen in the stadium while we were there. Apparently this twister appeared and picked up the large side tent that was standing right across from our sound tower, lights, 18 speakers and truck.  At that time the chairman of the EFB was there in the stadium, and so he and another Pastor prayed when they saw the tent being lifted and coming towards our equipment. Suddenly as he prayed "in the name of Jesus" the twister suddenly dropped the tent only a very small distance away from our stuff and only managed to damage one of our lights.......nothing else. Praise God!

We (LEI) had a great time up there in Selebi Pikwe. Our team all went camping in tents! It was really hot. 35 - 38 degrees on an average. We were invaded by ants, and had our own personal frog choir, but had a great time together!

We had 2 Pastors also join our team. Both of them came from Ellisras. Pastor Billy Davies:  AFM Church and Pastor Warren Friend:   Agape Church

We thank the Lord for all that happened in Selebi Pikwe, and for his mighty way in which he revealed himself to the people. We also thank the Lord for all healings and miracles that took place while we were there, and we give him all the Glory!

So much happened while we were there in Selebi Pikwe that I can't write it all down on one newsletter. So will try and add on in my next edition.

 THOUGHT:

Failure is thinking that you can advance yourself
 by
 pushing other people down.

Success is understanding that the more you lift others up,
the more you will be lifted up yourself!

 PRAYER NEEDS:

Personal Financial support on regular basis.

Need a caravan to be donated for camping in while on Evangelistic Crusades.

Upcoming Crusades in South Africa and Botswana 2007.

People to give one year and come and join the ministry on a volunteer basis.

God bless you all

From

Des and Ros
