It's exciting to sit and chat again with you all about what God is doing here in South Africa. We have seen some amazing things happen over this past month. Read along and hear what L.E.I is busy with!
Elisras "Catch the Fire" Conference:
Des and Bennet headed up to Elisras for the Easter period and held a "catch the fire "conference. There were about 5 different churches involved together and it turned out to be a big success as the hall was mostly full each day. There was a good response from the people in changing their heart attitude and looking more towards the things of God. The whole conference flowed very well and everyone walked away very refreshed and excited in God!
While in Elisras, Des, Bennet and Pastor Billy also went and did a street evangelism outreach at the local taxi rank. They handed out EHCSA booklets to the locals & many people got saved!
Testimony:
While at the conference, the team prayed for all the sick people that were there.
One woman that came forward to receive prayer had very poor eye sight and could barely walk as her legs were so painful and enflamed.
After Des had prayed for her she began to move around freely walking on her legs with no pain, and she also claimed that she could now see far clearer than she had done for very long time. She said to Des that she hadn't been able to walk properly for along time and that she mainly had to be taken around in a wheelchair because she was in so much pain - that is - until God touched her!!!
Praise the Lord!
A.B.K Project:
I just want to give you all up to date on what is happening with our Africa Babies knitting project for sick and destitute babies here in South Africa.
We are so far having a wonderful response from the public, both here in South Africa with various ladies knitting, and even abroad from as far as both New Zealand and Singapore. The response is fantastic!
Our team has already done our first hand-out this month, as we immediately started receiving finished items from various different donors.
We put them all into separate little packets and gave them out individually to sick, destitute, premature and HIV positive babies in the maternity area of a local state hospital.
We handed out Christian tracts, knitted booties, hats, wooly toys and wooly square blankets.
While we were there, the local area manager also allowed our team to pray for many young mothers that asked for prayer and nurses also.
Our motto for the Trust is: We can - because we care! and it looks like there are deffinatly many out there in the public that also DO care about what is going on in our economy and the state and health of our children!
If anyone else would like to be involved in knitting for the Trust, please just send me an email on
so I can send you all the info needed.
Prison Ministry in Jo-burg:
It was really great as the team went once more through the prison system in order to reach the guys inside!! The young man we are presently training - Bennet, did a small message for the guys. Then Des preached the word and once again we saw signs and wonders follow the preaching of God's word!
There were quite a few inmates that were healed of bad eye sight, ear problems and pain from T.B in their kidneys that day.
While there inside the prison, we also had the privilege of being able to hand out to the inmates an incredible 2000 booklets in various languages that were given to us to distribute thanks to EHCSA. We believe that many lives will be touched and changed due to the provision of these vital booklets. They show via scripture where we came from, who is God, how to get saved and how to be closer to God!
Testimony:
One man excitedly got up at our meeting after being prayed for and said that he could now see properly. He got out his bible and began to read from it in front of all the inmates. He said that before he couldn't see any words, he could only see stars in front of his eyes - but now he can see and read the word of God again properly! He was smiling from ear to ear he was so happy!
THOUGHT:
Every moment you are fully capable of living with wisdom, strength, confidence, success and joy.
It's not a matter of chance, but always a matter of choice...
and you can make the choices now that will surely get you there!
Perfect Sacrifice (Song)
Why do I ever wonder
That you would call my name
For how could I forget
The love you freely gave
The blood that was shed and poured out
While nailed to that tree
"It is finished" were your very words
That cleansed and set me free
Chorus/
Perfect sacrifice
The only one
That brings forgiveness from the throne
Perfect lamb
So pure and precious
Be exulted forever more
You are holy x3 Ohh God
You chose me before I was even formed
And you named me with all love
You gave me a task here on this earth
And you brought me with your blood
Bridge/
Ohh the blood of Jesus x3
Washes whiter than the snow

Sewing project:
Our team journeyed out to Refilwe Cullinin in April to officially hand over all the domestic sewing machines that were donated to the L.E.I AIDS Trust in Feb - April period.
The Trust handed all these machines over to the sewing project that is going on in the township area of Refilwe, bring the locals job skills development and community upliftment!
There was much joy and excitement in both the community and the house of God that day, as it gave hope for the people living in Refilwe that God hadn't forgotten them, and that other people actually do care about them!
L.E.I AIDS Trust donated that day:
- 6 hand held sewing machines
- 2 electrical sewing machines
- 1 electric industrial knitting machine
- 1 box of various patterns
- 2 full large sized rubbish bags of sewing fabric to help them along with their project!
The photo below is of Des and Pastor Thomas signing over ownership papers from LEI AIDS trust to now the new owners.
Street Evangelism Outreach:
Des and Bennet went out to the local area we were living in and preached to the different guys hanging around the taxi stand and those trying to get work. Thanks to EHCSA, they also handed them out booklets about God as they spoke to them. We had a very good response from the public with many salvations!
You know, all Christians are all called by God to evangelize, weather it be via mass gospel evangelism crusades - or weather it be simply one on one......it's all just as important to God!
.....IT'S ALL ABOUT SOULS PEOPLE - IT'S ALL ABOUT SOULS!!
Are we prepared to reach out through God and touch someone's life today?? Though God - YOU CAN!!'
He has given us the power and authority. (Isaiah 61)
All we must do is simply believe, reach out and obey!
Bennet's Corner
Since I started to work along with Des and Ros in their ministry, stepping out became a new meaning for me. Stepping out and doing the work was full of challenges and fears of failure. I know I am not able....... but God is!!
People have known me in the past as more shy and unobtrusive. When it came to preaching the gospel, I was often hiding behind the guitar, doing worship without speaking straight to the people. Moses was the same, fearful of speaking to the people and God was angry with him.
But God changed me, he renewed my thinking, I know he has now given me boldness and authority as I myself "step out"!
I always had authority as a child of God, but never realised it fully. Since being with Des and Ros, I can see the changes in me becoming from a small and quiet Christian, now to a fired up and passion filled servant of God. PTL
- People, If God can change my thinking from being not able - to a man now that trusts in him and chooses to follow in his call, how much more will he be able to change you and bring you into a place of your calling and a full understanding what you have, and who you are in him.
Bennet
