A.B.K PROJECT: African Babies knitting Project is created for the purpose of supplying those destitute and in need in orphanages, safe houses, hospitals, rural and township regions with orphaned, premature, endangered, sick or HIV/AIDS positive babies and smaller children, supplying them with vital warm woolen clothing, booties, hats and blankets, to help them survive the extreme winter of South Africa. I want to share more with you about what God is doing here through our knitting project for destitute babies etc.... We started a new project over here in South Africa in the winter of 2007 to get local South African women to knit for the trust, and then donate us their items of baby's hats and booties (some ladies decided they wanted to even knit dresses, soft teddy bears, blankets and Jerseys etc). I've had a fantastic response overall from the public. We have had ladies knitting for us from as far away as New Zealand England, America, Ireland and Singapore, not to mention all the local ladies on board with us from South Africa!
The Trust's aim is to knit the two together in order to make this a form of one on one evangelism, by putting the booties etc in a small plastic bag with our information in, and then a gospel booklet as well and hand them all out personally by our outreach team. (as well as pray and minister to the patients and staff individually)
Well, we went to a local state hospital where most of the women that were there in the maternity ward had absolutely nothing. (Only 1 mother we visited had her own night gown - no one else had anything). They all had to be dressed in state cotton hospital garments because of this fact. I even saw some mothers have to dress their boys up in little girls clothing - as they had nothing. It was a real humbling experience and really makes us thank God for what he truly has given to us!
The top matron there allowed us to pray for all the new mothers and nurses individually. One mother while we were there had just given birth but had lost her child, and was in desperate need of upliftment and prayer, so she was greatly encouraged by our visit. All the women were very grateful for their booties/hats etc, and also for the prayer and ministry they received individually from us. They were all really moved with our thought of reaching out to them at this time, and for the gifts they received. Most of them also picked up the EHCSA (Every home for Christ) gospel booklets and started to read them immediately.
For anyone who feels to give towards this project financially - please click onto the "Donations" page and put on the dept reference.... ABK Project. For anyone wanting to help and be involved in this project by knitting for L.E.I, please write to Roslynn on the following email address: ros@lei.org.za so she knows in advance to look out for your parcel, and who you are - so that we can send you a "thank you". Also write to this address if you wish to receive some free babies patterns. IMPORTANT - When you send your parcel/box over to us - it is VERY IMPORTANT that you only send the items over in a reasonable sized parcel/box and not in huge ones. The reason is that if you send a lot of items at once over, then the South African Government in customs will charge L.E.I Trust duties over on our side to the price equivilent of the garments retail price. This price can end up being a huge burden on our L.E.I Trust, (which is a charity to the people here in South Africa). Please remember to only send us reasonable sized parcels/boxes at a time - thank you! Our address of where to send the finished products to is as follows: Mrs. Roslynn Sinclair (charity - ABK) P . O . Box 4749 Rietvallei Rand Pretoria 0174 South Africa

Thank you very much for your consideration. God bless

At L.E.I, we are open also to accepting new babies clothes, stretch'n'grows and soft toys to hand out to the destitute, as it is too hot to give out warm booties etc to the mothers over the summer months. We have had some fantastic sponcers here inside South Africa give to us many of the following items which we are then putting onto packs for each of the mothers who have just given birth. Each mother received in their pack the following:
PLEASE CONSIDER SUPPORTING US BY SENDING US FINISHED GARMENTS AND SOFT TOYS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION! FROM INTERNATIONAL EVANGELISTS: DR. DES AND ROSLYNN SINCLAIR
