Words cannot describe what happened in the Johannesburg maximum security prison when we went to visit the inmates in May:

There were approx 250 seated waiting for us in the courtyard ready to hear from God. They had a fantastic men’s choir singing for us. They sang 4 or 5 songs.
It was a very hot day that Saturday, but none of the inmates chose to leave – even though they were seated in the middle of the courtyard in direct sunlight. Instead of getting burnt, they all put either hats on or newspapers over their heads and stayed put for the word of God the whole time. Praise God, about 60 souls were saved that day.

We also prayed after the word for different inmates who had sickness in their bodies. Many of them had the Holy Spirit come upon them and were then slain in the spirit. The guards weren’t worried with what they saw when some of the inmates were falling under the Holy Spirit, and there were no hassles or confusion with any of the inmates. We also had some deliverance take place even while Des was still up the front preaching the word.

After the guards  let us carry on with the inmates for longer than what is usually allowed in the prison, we then left the ones in the courtyard and went up to the Prison hospital to pray for all the sick there. Once again there were many healings that took place. The men were very happy to see us, and for the team to pray for them.

Many were very sick and some were weak and dying with HIV/AIDS. Jesus saved and healed many in that hospital that day.

PRISON  TESTIMONY:
There was one guy who said he suffered from schizophrenia. He heard voices speaking to him and he saw demons.
He told Des after the meeting that as Des was still preaching – the spirits left him and that he didn’t hear voices any more, but sat there to here the gospel with soundness of mind and peace.
All glory be to God!

PRISON  TESTIMONY:
While praying for people in the hospital, Des prayed for an elderly gentleman in his 60’s who’d had a stroke and whose arm was all deformed because of the stroke and he was paralyzed right down one side of his body.
After Des had prayed for this guy, he then straightened out his arm that had been paralyzed and deformed and could move it completely around with ease and no pain. That man was weeping like a baby he was so blessed.

All glory be to God!

PRISON MINISTRY
We had a fantastic time ministering with the men in the Prison in Jo-burg this last month. There were at least 500 waiting for us, all ready lined up in the courtyard and singing as we walked along the corridors between bars and concrete walls. The team had a wonderful time with them!
You know – it’s absolutely amazing how much you can see the change of heart and the love of the lord on some of their faces. These men absolutely shine with the love of the lord. It’s really beautiful!! It is such a joy to be able to minister and be there with them! They had a choir which sang several songs during the meeting, and then later on there was a guy who sang some solo items for us all to hear.
It was great to see how many men sat in the courtyard with their bibles open and hungry to hear the word of God.

We had once again many salvations and healings take place in the courtyard. There were different inmates that came up to the microphone after they had been prayed for by the team to testify that God had healed them of their ailments.    PTL

The wardens once again extended our time with the inmates, and this time they let us stay for 3 ½ hours with them!  ………. It was great!

Even the top warden in the prison came down to meet us and see what was happening, and then prayed with the team after the meeting. He also got all the other wardens that were standing near by to come and join the team for prayer.

The church leadership inmates were so excited – they could not hold back their smiles of pure joy, as this had never happened before in the prison!
The joining of hands for a prayer circle between outsiders, wardens and prisoners all coming together in unity!!

People, there is a fantastic spiritual breakthrough taking place in this prison!    We really thank the Lord for the opportunity of being able to minister and share the love of God with these men.

God bless you “mighty men of God”
–      We truly love you!!
