Do Miracles still happen today?? Image
As I write this article, we had just come back from visiting Lephalale (Elisras) where we heard the fantastic testimony of this young lady who stayed very strong in the lord in the midst of a horrendous ordeal that happened in her life.  ……….This is her story!

.......This woman was heavily pregnant approx one year ago when we last visited Lephalale. She told Des after the service that she desperately needed a miracle from God as the doctors had told her that the child she was carrying,  the child’s brain was deformed and had not fully developed, also that the child would be mentally handicapped, and would proberbly not even live for very long unless it could be on a life support system full time.

The specialist strongly advised her to have an abortion, but she didn’t want to loose the baby and also go against what she believed in, instead she chose to fully trust God.

After Des prayed for her at the meeting, she later gave birth to a perfectly formed strong and healthy boy named Lesedi.
Now - The boy is now eight months old and has had many tests done on him, but has nothing wrong with his brain, but  instead is a perfectly normal bouncy baby boy!
All praise be to God almighty!

Park People Outreach:
LEI has been going to feed the homeless people in our area of Pretoria for quite some time now. It’s hard in some ways because you see just as much need and desperation with all the guys, as when we first began.
They all still come running out of the long grass full of hunger, and now that we have the winter approaching us, they are all starting to feel the freezing pinch of cold as well!
We are trying to get warm 2nd hand clothing for some of these guys – as they literally have nothing, and are also raising support for blankets.

Jo-burg Prison Outreach:
Wow – what a fantastic day!
We usually go to the men’s section of the prison ,but this time the Religious warden lead us around to the juvenile section of all those still awaiting trial.
We had at least 500 young guys all seated on the grass waiting to listen to Des preach, filled with hunger of the word.
You could see many of them were very scared as this was their first time in prison, and many of them also came from other nations all over Africa.

What was interesting this day, was that we had many young guys proclaiming to be Muslims there in our meeting.
Now usually what happens is that all of Muslims will get up and go back to their cells when they hear that this is a Christian meeting proclaiming that Jesus is the Christ – the messiah, ……but NO, all of the Muslims present continued to sit there with the other 500 guys and listened to the TRUE word of the Lord being preached.

Des preached very powerfully that day at a level they could all understand and recognize, and basically every one of the young guys there at the meeting put their hand up to receive Jesus at the end of the message ……..including one of the guys that sat there that was initially Muslim.
He said that he understood and agreed with Des that there was no power in praying to Allah, as there was no such God - and that Mohammad was dead, whereas there was life and power through Jesus because he is alive, and that yes – it was he (Jesus) who is truly the Christ – the messiah.  Praise God!!

We prayed for the sick guys after the meeting and further miracles took place after the preaching of the word.

It was one great day in God, as we also had the privilege of being able to deliver 2500 booklets in 5 of the South African languages to all the inmates there.
All our booklets are donated by EHCSA.
(Every Home 4 Christ - South Africa)

Our team had a great time in prison that day!!

We are still having a great success with our knitting project. (NEW knitted arrivals to the right)
Image In this photo on the left, it shows one of the ladies that work at ACRES OF LOVE children’s home in Johannesburg, where they look after both HIV/AIDS positive and abandoned babies and small children. This day we took them 9 babies blankets that were knitted with much care by various ladies here in South Africa,  25 Jersey’s and 45 hats and booties, all donated from the LEI Trust.

Blankets needed:
People  -  we ask for your donation.
We are currently in need of:  BLANKETS.

We are raising funds for blankets for destitute people living in the open air with no shelter in order to help them make it through our freezing winter. These guys have no shelter or shanty, but sleep outside in the open fields. To buy a blanket here in South Africa, you are looking at approx R 30.00 per item. (USA $ 4.00).

For anyone who can help us reach out to them by buying a blanket, our bank details are below.

Elisras Outreach:Image
We went up to Elisras this last month and ministered both in the church over a 3 day period, and also on the street, by having an outreach with all the young people into the local community. We had many salvations over this time and had a great time proclaiming JESUS!

From April 2007 – April 2008

We pumped out over Twenty Three (23000) thousand Christian booklets into South Africa.
Many thanks goes out to EHCSA for all their input into our ministry and for their generous donations of various bibles and booklets.
