Evangelist Dr. Des Sinclair and his wife Roslynn had another great run at L.E.I over the past few months, being able to achieve much in the area of humanitarian work as well as preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ in both crusades and outreaches.
PRISON MINISTRY
Des and his team from Free Life Church, alongside in their joint ministry venture with Mondeor Community Church went through to those prisoners still awaiting trial in prison this past month and was able to minister to them by the preaching of the word, and also by bringing in boxes of Bibles, Gospel of John, and boxes of other religious booklets (The way to God) by EHCSA.
On this visit we split into two teams going into two different sections of the prison. The meeting we went to was packed with men, and I’m sure their singing could be heard from one end of the prison to the other. There were even four wardens that joined us for the whole service as they too wanted to hear the word of God.
Des preached the word to the men and had a fantastic response in those wanting to receive salvation and turn from their old ways of sin. Many that came up for prayer acknowledged their sin and need to turn back and get right with God.
One particular thing that stood out for me on this visit inside was one man who sat right up the front, but when the time for singing started he got up and just started dancing. Even though he was behind iron bars and concrete walls – for this one moment as this man worshiped his God, dancing & swaying and stamping his feet……. – HE WAS FREE!
2nd HAND CLOTHING Over the past few months we have handed out up to 40 huge rubbish sacks full of good 2nd hand clothing to the poor and destitute here in South Africa.
Many of which still live outside with no shelter in the long grassy fields. Many of these people are refugees or asylums from other countries, and have no money or place to go. We also gave many bags out in a town called Ladybrand ( on the border of South Africa and Lesotho). All clothing was gratefully received, as their winters can get so cold because of the mountainous terrain it can some times reach as low as -14 degrees .
LADYBRAND CRUSADE
We went down to a town called Ladybrand on the boarder of South Africa and Lesotho and held a crusade in their town hall this past month. It was said by the local people that this was the first time in the history of Ladybrand that both black and white people came together and had a crusade meeting worshipping God together in one place and forgetting their differences.
It was the first time for most of them to see staunch traditional white church members up the front crying their eyes out receiving salvation – with black African people also standing right there beside them – also crying their eyes out receiving salvation in the same place.
We were treated like kings and queens in this town by the local people, and felt the crusade went very well over a period of 3 nights. The photos above are of people receiving salvation - and the fire of the Holy Spirit.
TESTIMONY: One mother went back to Bloemfontein after the crusade in Ladybrand where Des prayed for her. She told us the following: This woman had cancer lumps in her body and growths all around her kidneys. She said that when she went back home from the crusade the pain left her, and the next morning as she was in the toilet there seemed to be what looked like thick tar coming from her body into the toilet.
She went back to the specialist the next day to go onto the dialysis machine. He then examined and did some tests on her before putting her on the machine but came back and said that she didn’t need to go onto it as her levels were normal. He did further blood and other tests on her, but couldn’t find any thing wrong with her.
It has been declared medically that there is now no more trace of cancer in her body. PRAISE GOD
While there in Ladybrand, on the Saturday we spoke at a Pastors / leadership meeting with local church Pastors and leaders in the morning and then luncheon together afterwards. On the Sunday afternoon after church, we also held an open air outreach in a township area and had salvations and miracles happen in our time of ministering.
TESTIMONY: I took the photo of the girl below holding up her hand at our outreach on Sunday afternoon. She had one finger that could not bend over at all and was stiff and sore. She asked for prayer and Dr Des and Ros both prayed. After the prayer her finger was healed immediately. She could then bend it right over without any more pain or stiffness. She then gave a big smile and immediately showed others what God had just done for her!
It was an excellent time together as there was a great support from many other Pastors and people that came from as far away as Dullstroom, Ladysmith, Velkom, Middleburg, Pretoria, Missina, Klerksdorp and Bloemfontein to come and join us in this festival revival time.
The crusade was hosted by Damascus Ministries International with Dr. Kubus Allen.
One thing that really stood out for me in this crusade time was the fact that many whole families were coming up to receive salvation – with the men as head of the house leading the way and coming up first, with their wife and children following. To me – this was a major blessing to see, as here in South Africa the men can sometimes be very staunch.
HOSPITAL VISITATION In November L.E.I went and visited the State hospital in Pretoria and held an evangelistic outreach there. We distributed booklets on (The way to God) by EHCSA, and prayed for many that were sick.
Both the men and ladies on our L.E.I team went into both the children’s ward and gave all the children there gifts from L.E.I, prayed over them, and left them each with a booklet from EHCSA for the parents.
Our L.E.I team then proceeded to both the maternity and labor wards and gave out beautiful packaged Christmas gifts to the mothers that had just given birth.
In each of these packages the following items were given:
1. aqua’s cream, 5. nappies, 1. bottle, 3. Stretch’n’grows, 1. jersey, 1. towel, 2 tops, 1 hat, 1. pair of booties and 1. blanket each.
All the mothers were highly excited to receive such a large precious gift each for both their baby and for Christmas, and quite honestly – were totally blessed out of their socks!!!
Many thanks goes out to our sponsors in Mondeor JHB for their generous input into L.E.I by providing us with all these wonderful baby items, so that we can then package and take them out into the poor local communities of South Africa, giving out freely to those who do not have.
P.S: For anyone else wanting to make a contribution into our charity Trust project by donating new baby clothes, booties & hats, toys - or whatever you feel, please contact Roslynn on
