PRISON MINISTRY
Life Evangelism International is joined together with both Free Life Church and Mondeor Community Church in Johannesburg. Together we are all going out as one team to reach those in prison with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our prison ministry team has been running for at least 5 years now and have seen incredible success. Thousands of inmates have come to know the Lord and given their lives over to him, many of which have gone on while still in prison studying and have become Pastors in their own right, while still leading the church behind Iron bars. Even the wardens join in with our services and come and listen to the word of God - they enjoy having us so much and can see such a change in the inmates there.
For four years we visited those in maximum security, but this past year (2008) our team have moved out and are now reaching out to those that are still waiting for trial as this is a very vulnerable time for them, and a time where they need us more than ever.
When we get behind all the bars and concrete, we brake into up to 3 different groups and each go into different sectors of the prison and hold like a church service. We sing some songs with the inmates, then Evangelist Des and some of the other great evangelists preach, and every time we see miracles happen and many salvations made – PRAISE BE TO GOD ALMIGHTY!
We also go into the prison hospital and pray for all the sick inmates in there dieing with HIV/AIDS, T.B etc. We have also seen many miracles happen in there as well (read our Testamonies on our web site).
Whenever we go in to the prison, we always have with us many C.D’s, videos, books, bibles and special booklets of how to find God (sponsored by EHCSA)
We have a very precious and wonderful team that goes in with us every time, and many thanks goes out to a special lady (Mrs Linda Shutte) because without her help in paperwork, faxes, phone calls etc – this team would not have made it this far.
