PRISON MINISTRY
Dr Des Sinclair and his team had a fantastic time going into the prison in Johannesburg over the past few months on a regular basis.
We were very happy be able to speak to both the men’s section, and on another trip, to speak to the juveniles.
There were on our last visit, over 300 juveniles waiting for us to come and see them, of which they all sat outside in the courtyard on a sloping green stretch of grass.
(This area of juveniles were still “awaiting trial” which could take up to a couple of years as the prisons are so overcrowded with new inmates coming in all the time.
We had a time of testimony brought by some of the members of our team, then Des brought the word of God to them.
The meeting was amazing as there was no disturbance from anywhere (which is highly unusual) and all were listening very intently to the word of God that Des brought to them.
Even those that chose not to come outside to the meeting, we could see that some stood beside the windows closest to where the meeting was happening and could hear them discussing the word. At one stage, even one of them still inside was crying as Des preached, and another of them was trying to console him.
The juveniles at the end of the meeting ALL came up to receive salvation, and you could see on their faces that they weren’t playing around-but were very serious as they echoed the sinner’s prayer.
We then handed out to them in their mother tongue booklets from EHCSA to help them along.
They were all really excited at the end of the meeting and expressed their thankfulness for our visit.  …….it was a good day!

Free Life Church:
Last year we started a church in Santon – Johannesburg named: Free Life Church.
At the beginning of 2009 we moved out of a house setting and into Crawford College there in Santon.
We have a fantastic crew on board with us, and the church is going very well.
The photos below are of a group of us having a social day at a friend’s house down beside the Vaal river.

ABK Knitting Project:
Our knitting project is still chugging along very well and enjoying great success from ladies wanting to help from various countries in knitting for babies in Africa that are destitute and in need of clothing and accessories etc.  (Many babies go home from the hospital wearing no clothing except a towel or newspaper wrapped around them, as the mother wait to see if the baby will survive before spending money on buying them any clothing)

We have over the past few months had many very devoted knitters send us box after box after box of brand new accessories and clothing for new born babies. We are very blessed to have such commitment from our ladies and thank them very much for their compassion towards Africa.

For those wanting to contribute 2nd hand toys or baby clothing for this project,
please send them to the following address:

Food and Clothing
We have over the past few months continued to hand out food to the destitute and give out 2nd hand clothing to the needy.
There is a great need here in South Africa at the moment as we have so many foreigners pouring in from other countries – most of them also being destitute and are coming here looking for work in which to send money back to feed their starving families up in Africa.
