Hi there everyone, we invite you to come and read with us all the latest news from International Evangelists: Dr's Des and Ros Sinclair and their team. (based in South Africa)
Ministry Over these past few months, Dr’s Des and Ros Sinclair have been busily involved with ministry around the country of South Africa. We have since our last newsletter been to Vryheid, Hartebeersport, squatter camps x3, Krugersdorp, Jews in Pretoria, Bapsfontein, Delmas, Klerksdorp, Brits and Cape town – just to name a few. We had a great Christmas and a quiet brake over the new year – only to start back up again in January 2010 with a full on BANG!
Vryheid We went to Vryheid this year and had a wonderful time with the people there. We spoke at the city Pastors meeting and had a good response from all that we present.
From there we spoke at a 2 night revival service in the city hall where there was also a very good response from the community (on the 1st night we were already ¾ full.) We had many salvations and healings take place while there in Vryheid.
While there in Vryheid, we also went during the day and spoke at various high schools. One thing that was special and stood out for me was the fact that it was the children coming boldly to us, asking us if we could come and preach in their churches on the following Sunday. This happened several times over from different ethnic groups of children. It was quite a blessing for me to see their responses and enthusiasium.....you could see they really wanted more!
Also, while speaking at the high schools we also had an alter call and had many children put their hand up to receive Jesus. We had a wonderful time with the people of Vryheid and found them to be very open and hungry for the things of God, and very hospitable to us during our stay there.
Brits Squatter Camp We went to a squatter camp that was made up with mainly refugees from other African nations. It was truly a humbling experience going back into their little tin shanty where they praised the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and where they danced and sang with all their hearts. Tin on the walls, tin on the roof and NO windows open (in the middle of summer). The service went on for approx 3 ½ hours. – whew –
But we had a great time there and again saw the hand of God at work with the preaching of the word, the hunger of the people, the excitement, and the miracles that followed the preaching. It was packed full of people and also the small generator they had wouldn’t work, so Des had to literally “yell” the whole of his sermon so the people could hear…..but we had a great time! A few months later we went back to this camp again and shared with the people again the word of God and experianced just as much enthusiasiam from them as the first time.
We also took with us on this latest trip, 31 big rubbish bags full of good quality 2nd hand clothing to be handed out freely for the people.
Jews in Pretoria We went this year and ministered to a group of Jews and those reaching out to Jews in Pretoria. WOW – what an experience! Des spoke to them for 1 ½ hours straight and they all listened very inventively and open. There were several Jewish rabbi’s there and they all were very excited. They came up to Des after the meeting to ask him further questions from a Christian perspective and again were very open to what he shared with them.
The special thing that took place here in this meeting was that there was one young business guy in his twenties that was there that came up after the meeting and said to Des that he needed to get closer to God and that he believed that Jesus was indeed the Christ - the messiah, and that he wanted to be right with him. Des told him he must acknowledge Jesus as his lord and savior and must repent of his sin as a sinner. ..........Now in all this - one of the head rabbi’s was also standing right next to Des when this young man came up and shared his heart with Des, and the rabbi said to the young man: go ahead - do it! PTL So Des lead him in the sinner’s prayer right in front of his rabbi. – WOW-
Boskop Outreach Boskop is a very small settlement above Potchefstroom. We drove down there and had a farm workers evangelism crusade there in a beautiful large chapel provided by our hosts. The momentum was great, the people were friendly and all were very excited at what God was going to do. All races of people were present there and I must say… God really turned up big time! There were many new salvations for Jesus over our time there and many people said that they finally understand what it is all about (as many were stooped in their practice of ancestral worship)
Des preached a fantastic sermon on how Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice and that they don’t need to keep slaughtering animals, and why. The response from the people there was incredible. It was like they finally saw and understood for the 1st time. There was a lot of buzzing talk while the meetings were going on, and even after as the people talked together and agreed on how Des presented his word to them on ancestral worship and how he was right in what he was saying.
We also had many miracles happen while we were there: one woman had a lot of pain in her feet and that they were really swollen, after prayer all the pain had gone. Another: One guy had a lot of trouble with his hips, after Des checked both his feet he saw that one leg was slightly shorter than the other. After prayer the man jumped up from his chair and started jumping up and down declaring that all the pain in his joints were now gone, also no pain in his back. Another: Some of the farm workers were so excited about Des’s sermon and what God did for them personally that night, they all came to work singing and praising God with huge smiles on their faces. FANTASTIC - All glory be to God!
