A short thought for you on prayer:  John 16:23-24 "And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full." NKJV

I remember my teacher at school sending me off to ask for something from the office in their name.  For my teacher.  Here I see the same truth.  We come to the Father to ask for Jesus.  Not for ourselves but for our Teacher.
 
God the Father will not refuse what His Son needs.  1 John 5:14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.  NKJV
 
If we are doing what Jesus wants us to do then we can ask for what he needs and we will receive it.  I suggest when we do seek the Kingdom in this way, the things you want will be added to you.
 
What does Jesus want?  As the Father with confidence, for He will hear you and give what His Son requires.
