Ps 91:1-2 "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust." NKJV
Firstly there is a dwelling in. When we are "in Christ" that is the place of His keeping. He is our refuge. We need to run into Him. Right inside.
Ps 91:4 "His truth shall be your shield and buckler." NKJV
The shield and buckler are for our protection. Protection from the enemy. His weapon is lies. Truth protects us and that protection is the Word of God.
The buckler interestingly is a shield that is covered with stretched skins which stops the penetration of spears.
Eph 6:16 "...above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery Darts of the wicked one." NKJV
Jesus demonstrates this in Mat 4 when tempted by the devil. Every time He responds with the Word and defeats him with the truth.
Psa 91 calls it truth and Ephesians calls it faith. Faith is from the truth. Truth is from the Word of God.
Stay in Christ where He keeps you and know the truth that sets you free and destroy every fiery dart of the enemy.
