Josh 24:14-15 "Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD! And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." NKJV
Joshua encourages the people to choose whom they will serve. Note it is not whether to choose God or not, but whom they will serve in sincerity and truth. I believe a lot of people choose God, but do not choose to serve Him. What is missing? The fear of the Lord.
Joshua made it clear they could do what they liked but he had made his choice. His preamble made it plain as to why he made that choice. And then if they wanted to choose the same then sign on the dotted line. In other words having chosen we are accountable.
Having chosen we need to choose to then be true to our choice. I pray you choose to serve the Lord today. In all you do, do it unto Him.
