December 2004 Hi everyone, Well it’s finally the end of the year. It’s been a hard, but good one this year with many blessings and rewards as we have shared and ministered to the people of Southern Africa. We thank the Lord for all he has brought us through!! We also thank the Lord for our new team members Duncan Badenhorst and Wynand Bester working with us inside L.E.I. People - our L.E.I team are all very hungry and excited for the new year coming. We all believe for a great, powerful and radical year of harvest for Jesus in 2005!! All praise be unto Jesus our Lord! Amen! Zimbabwe Tent Crusade: MUSANA RURAL AREA - CRUSADE This area is one in which the traditional form of ancestral worship was prevailing very strongly. We went into this crusade praying for and believing that the Stronghold 'ancestral spirits' had over the community would be broken. Through the prayers of the many people around the world what we saw the Lord do in this 'tough' area is nothing short of miraculous. ONE FIFTH OF THE RURAL POPULATION ATTENDED THE CRUSADE. APPROX. ONE SIXTH OF THE ADULTS IN THE COMMUNITY RESPONDED TO CHRIST AT THE ALTAR CALLS.
The Lord really touched the elderly during this crusade. Many old men and woman, as well as the younger generation responded to the Lord. CHARMS, FETTISHES, 'MUTI', AND TOOLS OF THE WITCHCRAFT TRADE WERE PUBLICLY BURNT. Many came forward taking off bracelets, bands, necklaces for them to be burnt. To us this is a strong sign that the truth of the gospel is taking hold in this community. MANY NOTABLE MIRACLES OCCURED. 1. On the last night three women had their sight restored. 2. On the second night a 63 year old man was brought, unable to walk, in a wheelbarrow. He lay on a plank at the front of the crowd until after he heard the message. He then struggled to get up for a short time as Des prayed over him. God healed his legs that had shrunken muscles, and he marched around the front of the tent in front of the whole crowd. When the crowd saw this miracle they all began to chant 'Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!' as they all know who he was and how long he had suffered. It was an amazing unmistakable confirmation of the Lord Jesus' resurrection of which we had been preaching that night. This same man was not only healed and received Christ, but was baptized in water and filled with the Holy Spirit all in the space of a few days. His face absolutely glowed with transformation from God! He went home every night of the crusade walking, smiling and praising Jesus. 3. A number of lame people both men and woman were instantly healed during the meetings. They left the crusade carrying their walking sticks instead of hobbling along on them. Pain that had almost crippled them was now gone in Jesus' wonderful name.
The truth of the resurrected, Living Lord has gone forth into this community not only in word but in power and deep conviction. We firmly believe that a great break-through has been received from the Lord over this area of Musana. For this we give Him all the praise and all the glory!!!! Water baptisms continue. Grounding the people in the truth is the total focus of the church in Musana now. Many thanks to “Zimbabwe for Jesus”, and all the Zimbabwe network team for all their help and faithfulness over this whole crusade.
Zimbabwe Pastors Conference: We had a very good Pastors Conference in Harare central city. There was a smaller attendance than what we had hoped for, but in saying so, there was still a good sized crowd of Pastors that came. They were all from Harare and surrounding regions, and all were very excited and soaking in as much of the word as they could each handle.
We felt it went so successful, that we have decided to go back again early next year for a 2nd conference with them all. Hopefully have a Pastors conference in other regions of the country also. This picture is of the Pastors that came forward to receive a fresh touch of the Holy Spirit in Harare Zimbabwe. Our Prayer Needs: Land for L.E.I. base (10 hectares) Financial support 4x4 vehicle Wisdom for the planning of ministry in 2005 Strong health
MERRY CHRISTMAS!! May God bless you all! From Des and Ros
