February/March 2006
Hi everyone,
Well, another new year has already begun underway, and so many things are happening already for the ministry. God Is Good!

Prison Ministry In Jo'bug:
Once again we had a great time ministering back in the prison with all the inmates in Jo-burg maximum security prison in early February.

We had rather a different experience this time as our team had to wait outside for well over an hour before we could finally get permission to go through to see the guys! Our team was right on the verge of giving up and walking out thinking we wouldn’t be allowed to visit with the inmates when the word finally came through that we could go into the prison. (We were the first team to be allowed to go in and visit with the inmates for over 2 months there at the prison, and things were very strict there over the Christmas period).
The men inside were so happy to see us again. Even though we were on the verge of giving up - they hadn’t! Many were still waiting for us as we went though into the courtyard. There was around about 300+ inmates that were there singing and dancing. Des preached on “Ezekiel chpt 37” and “being men of a different spirit.” There were some that also gave their hearts to the Lord, and those that were prayed for different sicknesses.
We never got a chance to go to the prison hospital again because of time, but the wardens still did allow us extra time there with the men so that Des could finish his sermon and the men then respond.
It was great to visit with them again, seeing the church looking good and Healthy. We look forward to our next trip inside. PLEASE PRAY FOR THE CHURCH INSIDE!

Gunther and Des up the front ministering to the congregation. Gunther through music, and Des through the word at Kriel! There was a very strong presence of the Lord moving very powerfully through both services there at Kriel.

P.S: If anyone would like to receive a CD of Gunther's ministry please contact him on the email address below:

Mens Conference:
Des was a guest speaker at a men’s conference in Johannesburg. Our dear friend “Gunther” also joined us again for this conference and sung to the crowd. There were many that went forward to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and also those who wanted to get right with God and receive a fresh touch.
All those that came forward did something different this time, as they all held hands across the front of the church in unity of what the spirit was doing in the hearts of each of the men that came forward!

Police Conference:
Des went down to Cape town as a speaker to the National Christian Police Association in March. He said it was very rewarding, and was shown very much hospitality.
He said that while he was there, the police provided him with an armed bodyguard which was with him 24 hrs a day while he was there, as they were addressing very serious problems nationally, and were in some extremely dangerous areas.

He also went while in the Cape and did a Crusade with the Christian Police Association in the worst crime area of South Africa. He said there were +/- 5000 decisions for Jesus at the crusade, where 10 - 15 thousand people attended.

The police also set up for him a private meeting with all the top drug lords from all the different gangs of that area and allowed Des to preach to them.
(In the past the drug lords have killed the police and Pastors who have tried to preach to them).
Des said that there was an extremely strong presence of the Lord there in the meeting and ALL of them that attended the private meeting gave their hearts to Jesus, and were quickly taken away to a safe house as otherwise they would have been killed by other gang members!

We had a phone call a few days ago from one of the police force in the Cape letting Des know that these drug lords have still had NO FURTHER YEARNING FOR DRUGS since Des prayed for them at the secret meeting! PRAISE THE LORD FOR HIS MERCY!

Addressing SA Parliment:
As Des ministered as a speaker to the Christian Police Association in Capetown,  they managed to somehow get him through to be able to speak to the National South African Government in Parliament. Des said he spoke there for +/- 40 minutes to the South African Government. He spoke on the subject of: how to prevent crime in South Africa (from a Christian perspective). While he was there, there were other private meetings set up for him with different ministers, but whatever was discussed falls under the “Strictly Confidential” sector and is not for the public or even myself to know anything further.

Sunnyside Crusade:
We did a crusade inside Sunnyside Pretoria in March 2006.  We held this event in a hall. Gunther also came and joined us again for this time of ministry to the people of Sunnyside.  It was a bit different this time as it turned out to be more of a time of ministry to the body instead of just straight evangelism.
